Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud has constituted an all-woman bench comprising Justices Hima Kohli and Bela M Trivedi to hear transfer petitions involving matrimonial disputes and bail matters.
This is the third time ever that an all-woman bench has been constituted in the Supreme Court. The first one was set up in 2013 when Justices Gyan Sudha Misra and Ranjana Prakash Desai sat together temporarily in absence of another judge.
भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJI) डी वाई चंद्रचूड़ ने वैवाहिक विवादों और जमानत मामलों से जुड़ी स्थानांतरण याचिकाओं की सुनवाई के लिए जस्टिस हेमा कोहली और बेला एम त्रिवेदी की एक महिला बेंच का गठन किया है।
यह तीसरी बार है जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक महिला बेंच का गठन किया गया है। पहला एक 2013 में स्थापित किया गया था जब न्यायमूर्ति ज्ञान सुधा मिश्रा और रंजना प्रकाश देसाई एक अन्य न्यायाधीश की अनुपस्थिति में अस्थायी रूप से एक साथ बैठे थे।

Former German chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday won the United Nations refugee agency’s prestigious Nansen Award, receiving praise for her determination to protect asylum seekers while in office. Pointing to the more than 1.2 million refugees and asylum seekers welcomed by Germany in 2015 and 2016, at the height of the migrant crisis sparked especially by the war in Syria, the UNHCR selection committee hailed Merkel’s “leadership, courage, and compassion.” The Nansen Award is awarded annually, was created in 1954 in honour of the first UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
पूर्व जर्मन चांसलर एंजेला मर्केल ने मंगलवार को संयुक्त राष्ट्र शरणार्थी एजेंसी का खिताब जीता प्रतिष्ठित नानसेन पुरस्कार, शरण चाहने वालों की रक्षा करने के उनके दृढ़ संकल्प के लिए प्रशंसा प्राप्त करते हुए कार्यालय। 2015 में जर्मनी द्वारा स्वागत किए गए 1.2 मिलियन से अधिक शरणार्थियों और शरण चाहने वालों की ओर इशारा करते हुए और 2016, विशेष रूप से सीरिया में युद्ध, यूएनएचसीआर चयन द्वारा शुरू हुए प्रवासी संकट की ऊंचाई पर समिति ने मर्केल के “नेतृत्व, साहस और करुणा” की सराहना की। नानसेन पुरस्कार, प्रतिवर्ष प्रदान किया जाता है, शरणार्थियों के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र के पहले उच्चायुक्त (यूएनएचसीआर) के सम्मान में 1954 में बनाया गया था।

Director of Land Records and Measurement Shri Jai Singh has been honoured with SKOCH award and SKOCH order of merit Award. This double honour has been given to Mr. Singh for his extraordinary work of digitising the entire process of Bihar Land Survey.
